 Episode 2 - 'Bitchassness'
Everyone's feeling the pressure and the season is only just beginning. The guys have a lot to live up to since Danity Kane has already gone platinum, and the girls want to step it up even more from their first record. They guys have started recording another song "Come With Me," a song described as being like a 'booty call'. Robert is trying to prove his potential to Diddy, but is still having problems in the booth getting his voice and the flow of the song just right. Robert chalks up his sub-par performance to the fact that he's unhappy being a "background singer" and wants a chance at taking the lead. Meanwhile, the ladies begin working on a new song, "Poetry", about a relationship where one person isn't being honest. While waiting in the studio for her chance behind the mic, Aubrey entertains herself by taking on the role of matchmaker for Qwanell ("Q") and Dawn, even though Dawn claims she is not interested. After a rough day in the studio, followed by an evening of getting swarmed by fans in the streets of New York, the girls and the guys go back to their separate hotel rooms to relax. However, Robert and Q aren't ready to call it a night. Robert calls D to tell her she needs to go out to eat with him, Q and Dawn. Before D can protest, the guys hang up and head over. D and Aubrey, suspicious of Robert's inflated ego, check up on Robert online for any scandalous gossip. Seconds before Robert and Q walk in the door, the girls discover a mystery girls MySpace page who claims to be Roberts "Junebug"/girlfriend. D immediately confronts Robert, who becomes defensive and denies everything. He says the girl is his ex, and he doesn't even know how to use MySpace. As their argument heats up, Q and Dawn sneak out to go eat dinner by themselves. When they return, arms wrapped around one another (even though they both claim they're 'just buddies'), D and Robert are still feuding. Finally, D calls it a night and refuses to continue the argument. The next day at the studio, Robert is still feeling frustrated about not being a lead voice, and feels as if he isn't fitting in with the group. The rest of the guys reluctantly realize that they need to meet with Robert to talk about how his attitude is getting to be a big problem. Before they get a chance to confront him, Diddy comes into the studio to check up on things. Although Diddy is pleased with Danity Kane's sound, he still comes down hard on the guys and tells them they sound like they haven't been practicing and have no enthusiasm. Diddy lets the girls go home for the day, but tells the guys to stay after to discuss any issues going on with the group. The guys have no choice but to bring up their problem with Robert. Their confrontation quickly leads to a fight between Robert, Diddy, and the rest of the group. Diddy sets Robert straight and tells him he doesn't like his swagger, and that "no bitch-assness will be allowed at Bad Boy." The meeting ends with everyone feeling hurt and frustrated. The girls of Danity Kane, realizing that the guys have been having a rough couple of weeks, decide to take everyone out. But instead of going out to a club, the girls try a new approach and head to church for some inspiration. The service succeeds in uplifting everyone's, including Roberts, spirits. The next day in the studio, the guys relax, make peace, and keep pushing with renewed energy towards their platinum record. |
